dreamed she was a teenager traveling in France last night - she has never been to France and hasn't been a teenager for a very long time.

Title: Spirit of butterfly

Gender: Female

Age: 51

Sun Sign: Virgo

Chinese Sign: Earth Dog

Location: Mayne Island, BC Canada

About Me:

I am a woman living a life of simple abundance. My vision for the world is that we are walking in the sunshine of our soul; embracing difference, joy, colour and transformation as opportunities present themselves. I can be counted on to hold space for actualizing diversity, harmony and greatness in our being.

When applying her creative juices, Terrill Welch has had many forums in which to grow.

Today, Terrill is strengthening her creative muscles in her Creative Potager blog and invites you to join her.

Terrill first remembers requests for her creative efforts in her grade one year at the small rural school of Horsefly B.C., Canada. Older students would ask her to draw animals on the blackboard (most likely to avoid going outside). Terrill sold her first oil painting when she was fourteen years old and had two successful solo watercolour art shows in late 1990 in Prince George B.C., Canada.

Terrill took up photography to allow her more flexibility when painting. Her photographic images have developed into their own art form.

Writing is a creative force Terrill began sprouting in her thirties.

Publications include:

Protocols in Response to Violence Against Women in Relationships (1994- out of print)

Leading Raspberry Jam Visions: Women’s Way – an inside track for women leaders (2005).

GAIA member BOOK REVIEWS:

One of the first things that struck me about “Leading Raspberry Jam Visions Women's Way - An Inside Track for Women Leaders” is that it is written from an action – rather than descriptive – perspective.  Enticing verbs that jump off the page include collaboration, appreciation, rigorous practice, accountability, give and take, living purposefully, work on creating, take the lead, and lean into the winds of resistance.

With clarity at the helm, this book helps women leaders to navigate with tangible and measurable action steps.  Terrill Welch does not merely set goals.  Rather, she provides a concrete formula to follow.  The central principle of the book – dare to be audacious enough to state what you really want, and then find the support to help you broaden the idea and make it a reality.  I came away understanding that successful women's leadership is a process, not a product.  The author's straight-forward language and encouragement – with an emphasis on divergent thinking – are far and away worthwhile! What Terrill has done in this book is to give every woman a true manual for becoming successful using their unique talents and perspective. Better yet, Terrill guides you through this book with a strong sense of self and a gentle guiding hand, always showing the most incredible understanding of what it takes to be a true leader in life, using great examples that sing with universal truth. Better yet, in knowing her personally, I know that she absolutely walks the walk - she is one of those incredible women who can combine a vast amount of knowledge with a completely practical way of explaining everything, and shows the world by example how it is done. Terrill is, in every way, an inspiration, and she has offered the world a true gift in this wonderful book.

On the personal side, my partner and I have a total collection of eight grown children and two grandchildren (to date). We have recently moved to a small Southern Gulf Island on British Columbia's West Coast. Our home is called la casa de inspiracion and it is a timberframe strawbale home set half way up a cliff side in amongst tall fir trees. We look down on a small farm with sheep and goats. The deer fence is up and gardens are being planted. Okay the deer fence is up and the deer still got in! I think we have it fixed this time.

Come by for tea… will only take a moment to put the kettle on.

Inspiration for living in the moment

“I've learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as 'making a life'.” Maya Angelou

“Living well is not about having all the answers-more about pursuing questions in good company…” - Rachel Naomi Remen

And special thanks to one of my teachers, Peter Renner, who shared these poems on his blog.

A Japanese death poem…

Empty-handed I entered the world
Barefoot I leave it.
My coming, my going –
Two simple happenings
That got entangled.

By Kozan Ichikyo, who died February 12, 1360, at 77.

 AND

“Be soft in your [life].

Think of [it] as a fine silvery stream, not a raging waterfall.

Follow the stream, have faith in its course.

It will go its own way, meandering here, trickling there.

It will find the grooves, the cracks, the crevices.

Just follow it.

Never let it out of your sight.

It will take you.”

May we be in this moment:)
