A Woman Behind Women Advertisement
Well, what do you think? Suggestions, comments, impressions about the advertisement please! Timeline for feedback is before mid-night Monday October 6, 2008.
My business relies on personal relationships and referrals and it is designed to create a vulnerable, intimate space for women leaders to enhance their leadership, vision and success. To get a better idea about the work that I do, see my recent Fall Offerings post.
One of my challenges is finding ways to be visible without “in your face” promotion. I have chosen the Gaia community as an interface between my immediate network of women leaders and colleagues and creating new connections. And I love this community and the compatibility it has with my vision for both work and living.
I have a chance to run a larger rectangle ad (the size of the ones on the right of your profile page) for just a blink of your eyelashes (which as a small sole-entrepreneurial business will use the full extent of my advertising budget for the rest of 2008!)
If you have any feedback or comments about the advertisement above (when posted it will link to my website), I would be most grateful.
With warm appreciation!

I think it's beautiful. I love the eyes. :)
Thanks Siona! What a pleasant surprise to have you drop by! Your feedback is most appreciated.
Yes, I echo Siona's commendation! Love the butterfly and I think you've put your message across quite well, Terrill! You're doing a wonderful venture! Blessings!
Thanks Mila! The butterfly has been with me since I started my business over five years ago. It is one of my very own designs and paintings. Glad you like it.
Terrill…this ad is inspiring…the woman behind women! And I must say, you are aligned with us here, who have reduced our fees to allow for those who need our services to be able to get them, so by deciding what to pay, no one is left out!
What a visionary idea…!
You inspire me here, and I belive your work is so important and valuable!
Blessings, Aley

Thanks Aley!
Your comments warm my heart…
It took me about six months of keeping my heart front and centre while I scratched my head to figure out how to make the By-Donation approach work… and it does work! I have the most amazing clients who are extremely dedicated to the work they are doing and at the same time they are able to make a difference for others through the charity part of the donation.
The business angle is to be able to spend less time promoting and marketing and more time delivery services. I am not quite there yet… but the promoting and marketing is WAY more fun with this new approach. I wouldn't necessarily suggest this approach for everyone but for me and the clients I work with it is perfect! Just like the Gaia community is a nice community with beautiful streets to set up a storefront for my services.
Have a wonderful day and thank you again everyone!
Thanks Kat!
Welcome to Gaia! Such a pleasure to have you join us here:)
I am hoping to create more things from my own gallery over the winter as we just about have the studio ready to set up (just need to put molding around the window frames - today!) I took some before pictures and will take some after pictures and post in the next while… I just love the transformation process. The outside will have to wait for another season.
It's absolutley fabulous Terrill. If I lived in BC I would be signing up for one of your Fall Offerings. It is truly inspiring to meet a feminist woman who is channeling her talents to assist other women in empowering themselves. You are a true Canadian heroine :)
Thanks so much for your comments Elizabethane… I wish you were in BC and able to come to something as well!
The word “feminist” is so seldom uses these days I was extra excited to its reference – and a reference to me!
(I have never been referred to as a Canadian heroine before - blush and thank you:)

My pleasure Terrill. All of us who are feminist women know who we are :)
Over time the mainstream media has done a very unkind but widepsread job of trying to undermine the term feminism. Many women are afraid of the term because they have been led to believe that feminist women are not feminine women. Fortunately increasing numbers of women have been liberated to live feminism, as their choices and rights have expanded and have become more firmly entrenched. So, whether the term 'feminism' is used or not, grassroots feminism continues to flourish. You, my friend, are proof of that :)
As I see it, there are as many faces of feminism as there are loving human beings on this planet. The lack of regard for the need to balance the feminine and masculine energies/principles continues to be at the root of all human issues and challenges. As long as the rights of women and children, the rights of the impoverished, the rights of the members of all groups of people who remained relatively disadvantaged/disempowered are not respected there will be no lasting peace on our planet. Feminist philosophy, of course, addresses all of this…..but you know that :).
I will, forever, be proud to call myself a feminist and to proudly display a beautiful, hand potted Goddess goblet that my daughter gifted me with :)

“will forever, be proud to call myself a feminist” – me too!
