Happy Canada Day

I have a lazy-fair relationship to Canada Day. For me it is Canada's vast wilderness that is mostly representative of Canada. And the first of July always had more to do with school being out and the Williams Lake Stampede in the interior of British Columbia than a celebration about being Canadian. However, it is a day that is passed hiking, walking, visiting with neighbours, seeing people with flags painted on their face and celebrating community and the diversity of our country.
Happy Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day, Terrill! We have a few friends in Canada and do feel their celebratory moods! Just got back from a celebration event oursleves - the first Rotary International Nepal District born today 1st July 2008!
Ahhhh a shared celebration day! Hope you had a great time:)
Now my little munchkin grandson and I are going to see about going to the neighbours farm later today.
Happy cnada Day terrill!! I remember when i lived in montreal how we went to the park by busch beer to watch the fireworks, was always lovely!!
oh! you should come back to visit Montreal! Canada Day was fun yesterday… love the pic, Terrill!
Thanks Yaffa and Nicole! It sounds like Montreal is the best place in Canada to celebrate Canada Day!
I have been enjoying using my new digital camera and this is an early evening photo taken on a circle walk by our place.
Late last night we could hear fireworks that may have been on a neighbouring Southern Gulf Island or over on the “big” island (Vancouver Island). Everytime there was a rumble of explosion the peacocks on the farm below would let out a long series of calls to let us know that “something-was-going-on-that-was-unusual.” It made us smile and laugh because not everyone has guard peacocks to warn of danger:)
LOL! guard peacocks. Love that!
sounds delightful, you didn't SEE any fireworks?? :(
No we didn't - next year I will try and remember that they will be happening and go out to the water's edge looking in that direction. Things are really quiet close as the crow flies (or turkey vulture) so we may be able to see them if we can get past these huge rain-forest fir trees.
i didn't see the fireworks either… i am in bed too early! :)
