I have been captivated by this amazing film Romulus, my Father. If you haven't seen this wonderful film (released in May 2007) which captures real-life drama, our character flaws and strengths, as well as the relentless power of human love, you are in for a delight.
I wish you more than two hours of full-emersion into the story of Australian author and philosopher Raimond Gaita’s, childhood. It will claim a place in your heart forever.

Terrill - Thank you for this film recommendation. After watching the preview that you provided, I got online with the Crystal Lake Library and requested it. You've never steered me wrong. I watched every single film that you recommended in your blog ”Empowering Stories about Women in Canadian Film” and they were all winners! Thanks again.
Laurie, if you liked the other films you are going to like this one as well. Another film that isn't mentioned in the previous post is Before Tomorrow. I haven't had time to do a separate blog post on it but if you are requesting… it is another great one to add to your list.
Well fiddlesticks! My library doesn't have it – but they are going to check within their network of sister libraries to see if they can get it for me. I followed the link that you provided – it looks great! Thank you for the recommendation.
You are welcome Laurie… delighted to share.
Terrill - I watched this film last night and balled my eyes out. Oh my gosh – it was excellent, but heart-wrenching. I loved the character who played the brother to Romulus' wife's lover. So near the end …
“He placed it blade up in the ground below to be sure. Just to be sure.”
… took the wind right out of my sales.
The acting was phenomenal – especially by the little boy!
That was a great movie recommendation. You were right – it's wonderful!
I am glad you had a chance to watch it Laurie. I am still thinking about this movie and the power of human character.
